All designs, drawings, concepts, renderings, documentation, written content, branding, and visual materials created by Narrative Dwelling Design remain the intellectual property of Narrative Dwelling Design unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Design concepts, mood boards, layouts, 3D visualisations, and documentation may not be reproduced, shared with third parties, or used for other projects without written permission. Upon full payment of agreed fees, clients receive a non-transferable licence to use the design for the specified project only.
We reserve the right to photograph and publish completed projects for portfolio and marketing purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Scope of Services
All services are defined in a written proposal, agreement, or quotation issued prior to commencement. Any work outside the agreed scope may incur additional fees.
Narrative Dwelling Design provides design consultancy services. We are not responsible for structural engineering, building approvals, certifications, or compliance matters unless explicitly stated in writing.
4. Fees and Payments
Fees will be outlined in the formal proposal. Payment terms may include deposits, milestone payments, and final balances as agreed.
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure project commencement.
Late payments may result in suspension of work. Narrative Dwelling Design reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts in accordance with applicable Australian laws.
All third-party costs, including but not limited to contractor fees, furniture purchases, supplier invoices, and permits, are payable by the client unless otherwise agreed.
5. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
Provide accurate information regarding the property and project requirements.
Respond to communications in a timely manner.
Engage qualified contractors for construction and implementation works.
Review and approve documentation before procurement or construction proceeds.
Delays in client decisions or approvals may impact project timelines.
6. Procurement and Third-Party Suppliers
Narrative Dwelling Design may recommend suppliers, contractors, and service providers. However, we are not responsible for their workmanship, performance, delays, or contractual obligations.
All contracts with builders, trades, and suppliers are between the client and the respective third party.
7. Variations and Changes
Changes requested after design approval may result in additional fees and timeline adjustments. Any variation must be confirmed in writing before implementation.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Narrative Dwelling Design shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services or website.
Our total liability for any claim arising from a project shall not exceed the total professional fees paid for that specific project.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded.
9. Cancellations
If a project is cancelled after commencement, fees for work completed up to the cancellation date remain payable. Deposits are non-refundable.
10. Confidentiality
We respect client confidentiality and will not disclose personal or project information to third parties without consent, except where required by law.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
12. Amendments
Narrative Dwelling Design reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The updated version will be published on this website.
